The Software Engineer will research, design and develop applications to support NCARB’s operations using the latest technology and the industry’s best practices. This position reports to the Assistant Director, PMO and Assistant Director, Technology. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a passion for technology, a team spirit and customer service attitude.

Primary Duties
  • Apply full software development life cycle (SDLC), gather requirements, design, develop, debug, produce, refine, test, deploy and document software systems and applications within assigned time and cost constraints,
  • Apply engineering best practices to ensure efficient program logic and data manipulation,
  • Act as a technical resource to users, customers and other team members,
  • Provide software engineering expertise for multiple software development initiatives,
  • Provide maintenance of existing applications,
  • Translate business requirements and assume proactive role in developing overall technical design,
  • Perform independent research and development of technology solutions for integration with current and future systems environment,
  • Play an active role in the planning and estimating of team tasks,
  • Potentially act as ScrumMaster for team in support of Agile Methodology.
Qualifications
  • BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or relevant field, or equivalent experience in software development.
  • At least 2-10 years of experience in software development
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to manage and solve multiple, complex problems
  • Excellent customer management/internal consulting skills
  • Agile Methodologies Experience preferred
  • ScrumMaster Certification preferred
  • 2 years coding experience in .NET (2.0+) environment
