AIA Continuing Education

Important Notice: On June 29, 2016, AIA Continuing Education (CE) will no longer be eligible for IDP or additional jurisdictional experience. However, AIA CE that qualifies for Health, Safety, and Welfare (HSW) credit will be eligible. Learn more about the overhaul of IDP.

Aspiring architects, whether or not employed in a qualified experience setting, may earn additional experience by completing AIA-approved continuing education resources and programs.

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) has created a video to show how aspiring architects can utilize AIA Continuing Education to earn IDP hours. [Watch Video]

Reporting AIA Continuing Education

  • One AIA learning unit earns one IDP additional hour.
  • Completion of AIA Continuing Education should be reported through through the online reporting system under experience setting S.
  • An AIA transcript documenting completion of AIA-approved resources must be uploaded to the online reporting system.
