AZ Arizona requires a total of 96 months of education and/or experience. If the applicant has a 5 year degree and IDP, that will suffice. If not, then extra experience may be needed.

MN If an applicant does not sit for any section of the examination for a period of three years or more, they must submit a new application to the board to resume taking the exam.
NY Yes, for rolling clock extensions, candidates must apply to NYS Board for Architecture as well as NCARB.
OH Eligibility terminates unless the applicant has passed or failed a division of the ARE within a period of five years. Any applicant who's authorization is terminated must establish ea new eligibility under the current eligibility requirements of the board.

PR Puerto Rico law requires taking at least two exam divisions for Architect in Training Certificate renewal every five years.
TN Applications are held in a pending status for five years from the date of application, after which candidates must reapply. Candidates retain credit for any parts of the exam passed.
TX Texas' 5-year rolling clock took effect on 2-1-02. Some passed sections considered valid by NCARB may not be valid in Texas.
VA Applicants are approved for a period of three years during which time they can sit for any portion of the ARE. If any portion of the ARE remains incomplete at the end of the applicant's three-year eligibility, he/she must reapply to the Board for approval to sit again for the ARE.

RI Rhode Island is a Direct Registration state. There is no application. The applicant must request NCARB to transmit the record to the Board. When the Board receives the NCARB record, it is presented to the Board for approval. After Board approval, the applicant is notified by mail of the Board approval and requested to submit the $60 initial registration fee and a tax payer status affidavit. Upon receipt, initial registration is issued.
