Education Evaluation Services for Architects (EESA)

Want to become an architect but don’t have an architecture degree from a university program accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB)?

The NAAB’s Education Evaluation Services for Architects (EESA) program enables you to have your non-accredited degree assessed to determine if it meets the NCARB Education Standard for licensure and identify what, if any, deficiencies remain to be satisfied.

All EESA applications now require that you first open a My NCARB account in order to establish an NCARB Record. Please note that the NAAB does not accept checks as payment for the EESA application.

If the information in your NCARB Record meets the necessary criteria, you will automatically receive a prompt regarding your EESA eligibility in the Education section of your My NCARB Record. Once you indicate your interest in EESA via your My NCARB Record, a representative of the NCARB Customer Service team will contact you to help evaluate whether EESA is an appropriate option given your education, experience, and jurisdiction.

For more information on the EESA program, visit the NAAB website.
