The American Institute of Architects (AIA) has amended its continuing education membership requirement to incorporate 12 hours of health, safety, and welfare (HSW) continuing education hours (CEHs)

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) elevated 105 of its members to its College of Fellows. Two NCARB volunteers were included in this year’s inductees.

The NCARB Board of Directors held a single-day meeting in January that discussed blue-sky licensure topics and other Board business.

The NCARB Outreach team hit the road to visit students at Woodbury University School of Architecture and The New School to provide them face-to-face guidance on the path to architectural registration.

Six NCARB committees came together in San Diego, January 20-21, in a two-day “mega-meeting,” called Com6, to facilitate information exchange and cross-committee relationships.

Architecture programs at six U.S. universities have been named as recipients of the 2011 NCARB Grant for the Integration of Practice and Education in the Academy.

NCARB hosted a two-day workshop, November 4-5, which brought together executives from 32 of its Member Boards, NCARB volunteer leadership, and a Council of Architectural Component Executives (CACE) representative from the American Institute of Architects (AIA).

The National Architectural Accrediting Board, Inc. (NAAB) is conducting a study to collect critical information on the needs and expectations of accredited architecture education.

NCARB's 2011 survey of US architectural registration boards indicates that there are currently 104,301 registered architects in the United States.

NCARB will implement the final phase of Intern Development Program (IDP) 2.0 3-5 April 2012. This phase will include new experience categories and areas, simplified experience settings, and an enhanced electronic system to report IDP experience.

NCARB is proud to announce that it has made this year’s InformationWeek 500, an annual listing of the nation’s most successful innovators of business technology. A first-time award winner, NCARB is excited to be recognized for its efforts in serving its members and customers.

NCARB President/Chair of the Board Scott C. Veazey, AIA, NCARB, of Evansville, IN, was presented the AIA Indiana Edward D. Pierre Award for his advocacy for architecture as a civic and community leader and his service to the profession and to the public.

The NCARB Outreach team hit the road to visit students at Catholic University of America and give them the inside scoop on the path to architectural registration.

NCARB has signed long-term contracts with Alpine Testing Solutions, Inc. and Prometric, Inc. for the ARE®. These two vendors were selected for their unique strengths that will allow NCARB to continue to provide the profession with the highest quality licensing exam, enhance the candidate experience, and position the ARE for a more agile future.

The AIA is now accepting applications for the 2011-2014 IDP Firm Award and the 2011-2014 IDP Outstanding Firm Award.

NCARB selected PSI Services, LLC as the consultant for the 2012 Practice Analysis of Architecture.
