Scott Veazey

12 July 2011

Washington, DC—Scott C. Veazey, AIA, NCARB, 2011-2012 NCARB President/Chair of the Board, shared his vision for the Council with the membership at the 92nd Annual Meeting and Conference of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). “The Board continues to think strategically, and in addition to working with the goals for the Council this year, we are also looking at the overarching issues that could evolve into our future vision. The issues that will be discussed as we move throughout the year are stability, value, reciprocity, and agility.”

Focused on implementing the first stages of NCARB’s Strategic Plan during his presidency, Veazey expanded on how the Council has prepared to achieve its goals. “We have worked hard to make sure the mission and the vision of the Council is clear and concise, goals are actively stated, achievable objectives are in place, and measures and strategies to accomplish the objectives are accepted by those who are accountable.”

Veazey emphasized the need for constant evaluation, noting that the “coming year provides us with a great opportunity to ask one simple question about a lot things. That question is ‘why?’” As we welcome NCARB’s new CEO, Michael J. Armstrong, “the transfer of information … will give everyone on the Board, Mike, and the staff the opportunity to examine and perhaps rethink why we are doing what we do and how we do it.”
