Building Community

Join us May 19-21 in Philadelphia for the American Institute of Architects (AIA) National Convention! Stop by our booth (#1539) to pick up a free T-shirt, add your picture to our photo wall, enter for a chance to win amazing prizes, and learn about the tools and resources we have to help you reach your career goals.

Follow along on social media by using the hashtag #AIACon16. Whether you’re on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram, you can connect with other professionals and stay up-to-date on the latest convention news.

Build Your Community

The architectural community is made of an incredibly diverse range of people and roles. Stop by our booth and show us how you serve the community by adding your picture to our NCARB photo wall, and check out the rest of the professionals who make up the world we all work in.

Let’s Go Further

NCARB has spent the last several years updating its programs and services to make them more aligned with current architectural practice. Now, several major changes will be implemented in 2016:

  • The realigned Architectural Experience Program (AXP)
  • A new AXP e-Portfolio for option for experienced professionals who put licensure on hold
  • A new alternative for foreign architects seeking U.S. licensure
  • The new ARE 5.0

If you are interested in learning more about any of these changes—or any other NCARB initiatives—stop by our booth to ask our experts!

Earn Continuing Education

We will be hosting the following two workshops at the convention, both of which provide opportunities for you to earn continuing education credit:

Ethics Jeopardy: Avoiding a Game-Ending Move
May 20, 7-8 a.m., Room 201A, 1LU/HSW/RIBA

This session sheds light on the precarious ethical situations you can face as an architect. You’ll engage with your colleagues in a review of case studies and lively discussions about the specific standards that architects are legally bound to uphold, the real-world consequences of disregarding those standards, and the resources you need to stay current on the rules of professional conduct.

Navigating the Future Architect Registration Examination
May 20, 5-6 p.m., Room 111, 1LU/RIBA

Join us for a discussion of the transition to ARE 5.0, including realignment of content, elimination of vignettes, and introduction of new item types—critical information that will help you prepare or prepare others for the exam. Whether you are studying for the ARE, or have employees, friends, or associates who might look to you for guidance, this is one session you shouldn't miss.
