The new ARE 4.0 combines the graphics and multiple-choice divisions of the Architect Registration Examination®, and reduces the number of divisions from nine to seven. ARE candidates can begin preparing for the new exam by downloading free 4.0 exam guides from the NCARB web site.

More and more states are allowing interns with an active NCARB Record to begin taking the Architect Registration Examination® before completing the Intern Development Program.

Architects can now choose from more 25 different titles in the NCARB's monograph series to help them stay current with the latest developments in the industry while earn health, safety, and welfare professional development units.

The BEFA Path to Certification
Foreign architects who have demonstrated seven years of comprehensive practice in their home country as a registered/certified/accredited architect may be eligible for NCARB certification through the Broadly Experienced Architect Program. Ethics and Professional Rules of Conduct: Distinction and Clarification
This mini-monograph examines some of the ethical dilemmas architects face each day. The author discusses NCARB’s Rules of Conduct and the American Institute of Architects’ (AIA) Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct and how they can help resolve some of these issues. Several case studies are presented that show that in some situations it is difficult, and at times even impossible, to determine “right” and “wrong."
