ARE e-News
ARE e-news is a quarterly electronic publication sent to ARE candidates. Topics cover the latest news about the exam, commonly asked questions, important reminders, and information related to the exam from NCARB’s Annual Meeting and Conference held each June. ARE e-News: The ARE Rolling Clock (August 2010)
The NCARB ARE Rolling Clock made its debut on 1 January 2006. This January will mark the fifth year of its existence—and the first time under the policy that division scores for candidates who have not completed the exam within five years will begin to expire.

ARE e-News: Confidentiality Agreement to Change 1 July 2010 (May 2010)
Beginning 1 July 2010, Prometric test centers will be using a new Confidentiality Agreement acceptance procedure for all divisions of the ARE. Also in this edition, information on the new rule related to Authorizations to Test and who to call with ARE questions.

ARE e-News: First Year of ARE 4.0 Pass Rates Released (February 2010)
NCARB has published the division pass rates for all ARE 4.0 administrations conducted between July 2008 and June 2009 on our web site. To ensure the validity of the scoring process, these pass rates have been reviewed by the Council's testing consultants and were found to be within acceptable psychometric standards.

ARE e-News: ARE Scoring 101 (November 2009)
For years, rumors and myths have circulated around offices and the internet about how ARE divisions are scored. In this edition, we answer the most common questions about the scoring process.

ARE e-News: ARE Security and Development Fee (July 2009)
ARE fees will increase to $210 per division on 1 October 2009. The increase is due to recent incidents of exam content disclosure by ARE candidates. Highlights from the 2009 NCARB Annual Meeting and Conference in Chicago are also included.

ARE e-News: ARE 3.1 Ends 30 June 2009 (May 2009)
The final days of ARE 3.1 are approaching. This edition includes information on when ARE 3.1 candidates can begin testing in ARE 4.0 and some frequently asked questions about the transition.

Special Edition ARE e-News: Eight ARE Candidates Receive Suspensions for Violating Confidentiality Agreement (May 2009)
Disclosure of Architect Registration Examination content is not taken lightly as it compromises the integrity of the exam and ultimately undermines the public's health, safety, and welfare. This special ARE e-News covers the ramifications of disclosing exam content and how it affects every candidate taking the ARE.

ARE e-News: ARE 3.1 Transition Reminders (February 2009)
Don’t Delay—ARE 3.1 ends on 30 June 2009. Candidates should schedule any remaining 3.1 divisions well in advance as availability cannot be guaranteed. This edition also includes a reminder about ARE content confidentiality and helpful information about the transition to ARE 4.0.

ARE e-News: ARE 3.1 Ends in June 2009 (November 2008)
Will you be transitioning to ARE 4.0? Don’t forget! The end of the ARE 3.1 is eight months away! This edition includes important transition dates and information on upcoming changes to the Intern Development Program (IDP).

ARE e-News: ARE 4.0 is Here! (July 2008)
ARE 4.0 is here. This edition reviews all the information new and current candidates should know before they head to the test center during the next year. Highlights from NCARB’s 2008 Annual Meeting and Conference are also included.

Special Edition ARE e-News: Site Grading Vignette (May 2008)
This special edition advises candidates that there will be a significant difference between the Site Grading vignette in ARE 3.1 and ARE 4.0.

ARE e-News: ARE 4.0 Study Aids Available (April 2008)
This edition highlights new—free—ARE 4.0 Guidelines, Study Guides, and an updated practice program that are now available to download on NCARB’s web site. ARE 3.1 Study Guides are now also available to download for free.

ARE e-News: Tips for a Smooth Transition to ARE 4.0 (November 2007)
This edition discusses tips on how to make a smooth transition to ARE 4.0. It includes links to helpful tools, such as transition charts, and frequently asked questions.

ARE e-News: ARE Timing (June 2007)
This edition covers information from NCARB’s 2007 Annual Meeting and Conference—including the debate surrounding ARE timing. In the end, Member Boards voted on to allow concurrent testing of ARE and completion of IDP.
