IDP e-News
IDP e-news is a quarterly electronic publication sent to NCARB Record holders currently completing the Intern Development Program (IDP). Topics cover the latest news about the program, Record-processing information, important reminders, and the information related to the program from NCARB’s Annual Meeting and Conference held each June. Below are links to and brief descriptions of past issues.

IDP e-News: Changes to the IDP Coming in Fall 2010 and 2011 (August 2010)
The third and final phase of IDP 2.0, which was originally scheduled for January 2011, will now be implemented in fall 2011. In the meantime, the NCARB Board of Directors has approved significant changes to the program that will go into effect in fall 2010—including new IDP eligibility dates and new supplementary education opportunities.

IDP e-News: The Final Phase of the Six-Month Rule (April 2010)
The final phase of the Six-Month Rule goes into effect at 12:01 a.m. EDT on 1 July 2010. You should document your experience now to avoid processing delays. Also included: Important information about the Emerging Professional's Companion.

IDP e-News: Six-Month Rule—Are You Ready? (March 2010)
The Six-Month Rule will go into effect for all interns at 12:01 a.m. EDT on 1 July 2010. The Six-Month Rule is already in effect for interns that established an NCARB Record on or after 1 July 2009. This edition also includes information on IDP 2.0 and supplementary education opportunities.

Special IDP e-News: Get Ready for Training Hours (December 2009)
Submitting your IDP experience is about to get easier. Effective 1 January 2010, training units will become training hours. One training unit equals eight training hours. Due to the New Year's holiday, the e-EVR will be updated to reflect this change on 4 January 2010.

IDP e-News: Get Ready for the Next Phase of IDP 2.0! (November 2009)
The first phase of IDP 2.0 went into effect last July and introduced opportunities for interns to earn minimum (core) training units and supplementary education credit when completing the Intern Development Program (IDP) while unemployed. Phase Two, which will go into effect on 1 January 2010, will usher in additional changes to make the program more aligned with practice today. This edition also includes information on the Emerging Professional's Companion (EPC).

IDP e-News: New! Submit Supp Ed Through the e-EVR! (July 2009)
Interns can now submit supplementary education through the e-EVR. This edition also includes a recap from the 2009 NCARB Annual Meeting and Conference and information on upcoming webinars.

IDP e-News: Introducing IDP 2.0 (May 2009)
NCARB is updating the IDP requirements to more closely align with the current practice of architecture. IDP 2.0 will be implemented in three phases beginning 1 July 2009.

IDP e-News: Report Your Experience Online with the e-EVR (February 2009)
In this edition learn about NCARB’s new electronic Experience Verification Reporting system (e-EVR) and how it improves the IDP reporting process. Also, new IDP Guidelines and IDP Supervisor Guidelines are available!

IDP e-News: All about the Six-Month Rule (October 2008)
This edition includes information on the “Six-Month Rule,” the online reporting system that will launch in December 2008, common paper reporting errors, and ways to reduce your fees toward becoming NCARB certified.

This special edition covers the facts about the IDP Reporting Proposal (aka the “Six-Month Rule”) being considered by NCARB’s Member Board Members at the 2008 Annual Meeting and Conference.

IDP e-News: Update on IDP Record Processing (March 2008)
This edition has current Record processing times and lists improvements underway to decrease both evaluation and transmittal processing time.

IDP e-News: Enriching the IDP Experience (November 2007)
This edition explains why the IDP Committee believes regular reporting of IDP training units is an integral part of the entire Intern Development Program. That’s why they have recommended the six-month reporting rule for full Member Board consideration.

IDP e-News: 2007 Annual Meeting Wrap Up (June 2007)
This edition covers information from NCARB’s 2007 Annual Meeting and Conference—including the debate surrounding ARE timing. In the end, Member Boards voted on to allow concurrent testing of ARE and completion of IDP.
