We understand that the path to licensure can be challenging. That’s why NCARB works closely with a community of architect licensing advisors, who can assist you as you work to accomplish your professional goals. If you’re looking for guidance, look no further! Find your local architect licensing advisor using our Licensing Advisor Lookup tool.

What is a Licensing Advisor?
Licensing advisors are volunteer professionals, educators, and students who help others pursue licensure. Architect licensing advisors provide guidance throughout the licensure process by  sharing key information about becoming an architect and helping you create a strategy to complete the path to licensure . You can look to your licensing advisors for insight into completing the AXP, passing the ARE, and meeting licensure and reciprocity requirements.

National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) accredited architecture programs and American Institute of Architects (AIA) state chapters are expected to have an appointed advisor. Don’t see an advisor listed for your school or AIA component? Please get in touch with your school or chapter leadership and inquire about who is in this role, or share the position description with them to determine how to appoint an advisor!
