Jon Alan Baker, FAIA, NCARB, LEED AP

Jon Alan Baker, FAIA, NCARB, LEED AP, of San Diego, CA, is a partner of BakerNowicki Design Studio, which specializes in the design and planning of educational facilities throughout Southern California.

As a gubernatorial appointee, Bake has been a member of the California Architects Board since 2005 serving four terms as Board President. Also actively involved with NCARB since 2006, he has served as regional chair for Western Conference of 12 States, and various regional and national committees. Baker served two years on the NCARB Board of Directors as Region 6 Director from 2009-2011 and has been re-elected to the Board with term beginning in June 2018.

In 2009, Baker was inducted into the AIA College of Fellows by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) in recognition of his career-long achievements in advancing the profession of architecture. He is the former president of AIA San Diego, including eight-years as a board member. He also served two years on the board of the AIA California Council.

With extensive experience in design and planning of large scale public and private projects, Jon's professional experience covers 36 years of professional practice and firm ownership. He is a California licensed architect, holds an NCARB certificate and has been licensed to practice architecture in 10 states.
