Terry L. Allers, FAIA, NCARB, Hon. FCARM, of Fort Dodge, Iowa, served as a member of the Iowa Architectural Examining Board for nine years, serving as chair for several terms. His volunteer work with NCARB includes service on the Audit, Broadly Experienced Architect, Education, Examination, Experience, and Experience Advisory committees, as well as terms as secretary/treasurer and vice chair of Region 4. He has also represented NCARB on the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) accreditation teams since 2009, having served as a visiting team member on three visits and as chair of a fourth visiting team. Allers was inaugurated as NCARB's 2019-2020 president/chair of the Board at the organization's Centennial Annual Business Meeting.
Allers is president of Allers Associates Architects, PC, which he founded in 1979. He has been an NCARB Certificate holder and member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) since 1974. The architect served on the Iowa Chapter of the AIA Board of Directors for three years and has been on numerous AIA committees. In 2019, he was elevated to the AIA College of Fellows in recognition of his service to the profession. He has also been an active volunteer in the Fort Dodge community and was recognized by the Fort Dodge Area Chamber of Commerce with the Catalyst Award in 2012. Allers is a graduate of Iowa State University and is licensed in Iowa and Minnesota.
