
Mary joined NCARB in 1989—serving initially as the controller; then as director of finance and administration; vice president of operations; and now, as chief operating officer. Mary’s areas of responsibility include customer relations, marketing and communications, finance, human resources, facilities management, meeting planning, and the Council's programs related to education, experience, examination, and certification. Facilitating these diverse areas allows Mary to focus on turning NCARB into an organization dedicated to excellent, personalized customer service.
Mary served on the Board of Directors for the Federation of Associations of Regulatory Boards (FARB) including holding the offices of first vice president and president of the organization. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Maryland, College Park; holds a CPA license (inactive) in Maryland; and earned the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential (inactive). In June 2001, Mary received the NCARB President’s Medal in recognition of her distinguished service to the Council and its mission to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public.
