Starting today, April 26, Architect Registration Examination® (ARE®) candidates can now migrate their exam eligibilities to NCARB’s new exam delivery vendor, PSI. After you migrate, you can begin scheduling exams with PSI through our refreshed “Exams” tab in My NCARB. Here is everything you need to know about migrating to PSI, navigating the new Exams tab, and scheduling with PSI.

Know Before You Migrate

  • You don’t have to migrate now. If you’d prefer, you can continue testing with Prometric through May 31, 2022.
  • If you don’t migrate to PSI by May 31, you’ll be automatically migrated to PSI between June 1-14.
  • No matter when you decide to migrate, the first day to test with PSI is June 14, 2022.
  • Migrating to PSI is one-way. Once you migrate to PSI, you won’t be able to test with Prometric.
  • If you have an unused exam seat (seat credit) in your Record, you will be able to use that seat credit after you migrate.
  • You can only migrate if you don’t have an exam scheduled with Prometric and aren’t waiting on a score report from a Prometric exam.

How to Migrate

To begin scheduling appointments with PSI, you will need to migrate your exam eligibilities from Prometric to PSI. Here’s how:

  1. Log in to your NCARB Record.
  2. Navigate to the “Exams” tab.
  3. You’ll see a header at the top of the page with information on migrating to PSI. Click the “Begin Migration Process Now” button and follow the prompts on the screen. You will be asked to type the word “MIGRATE” to ensure no one migrates by accident.

Don’t have exam eligibilities yet? Learn how to request them.

Explore the New Exams Tab

After you migrate, you’ll notice the interface within the “Exams” tab of your NCARB Record has a new look and feel. You’ll see a pop-up on your screen that will walk you through the basic changes. Here’s what you should know:

  • When you migrate, you won’t have any divisions scheduled, so you’ll see a header that reads “All Divisions” at the top of the page. There will be a square for each individual division that lists your rolling clock information and links to past score reports, if applicable.
  • Once you start scheduling appointments, any scheduled divisions will show up at the top of the page, so your appointment information is easy to find.
  • At the bottom of the page, you’ll see additional resources and information, including:
    • The option to purchase exam seats/seat credits (you can also purchase as part of the scheduling process with PSI)
    • Any existing accommodations, which will automatically migrate from Prometric
    • The new Practice Exam Dashboard—the new Dashboard features a full-length, scored practice exam. When the divisional practice exams launch later this year, they will be added to the Practice Exam Dashboard. Note: the publicly available Demo Exam is not scored.
