Meet Your Year-end Continuing Education Requirement

With the end of the year approaching, it’s time to fulfill your continuing education (CE) requirement for the year—and NCARB is here to help. Thanks to our exclusive continuing education courses, you can easily meet your jurisdiction’s CE requirement on the go or from the comfort of your own home.

These short, self-study sessions are available as downloadable PDFs and are always free for NCARB Certificate holders and licensure candidates with an active NCARB Record.

Continue developing your professional skills by completing courses on topics like fire safety, professional conduct, and building performance. Written by industry experts, monographs offer an independent, cost-effective way to earn learning units in Health, Safety, and Welfare (HSW) or sustainability.

Each course provides you the opportunity to earn 1 to 2.5 learning units by reading a short article and passing an online, open-book quiz. Once you pass the quiz, you can instantly print your certificate of completion. Plus, we’ll automatically report your credit to the American Institute of Architects (AIA) at no additional cost.

Note: You’ll need to “purchase” the course by filling out your billing information before taking the quiz. However, if you are an NCARB Certificate holder or are a licensure candidate with an active Record, you will not be charged.

Updates to CE Courses

Keep in mind, NCARB’s long-format Monographs (either digital or hard-copy) are no longer eligible for CE credit. In addition, several of our CE series will be retiring on December 31:

  • Accommodations for Seniors
  • Building and Designing for Security
  • The Hidden Risk of Green Buildings
  • Who Needs a Spec Writer

If you would like to earn credit for any of these courses, be sure to complete the related quiz by December 31!
