We want licensure candidates and architects to have access to every tool they need to navigate the path to licensure and reciprocity—and one of those is the community of architect licensing advisors.
Architect licensing advisors are local professionals, educators, and students who volunteer their time to help others pursue licensure and reciprocity. These volunteers often provide candidates with their first glimpse into the licensure process, lending help and guidance along the way. Similar to a supervisor or mentor, candidates look to their advisors for insight into completing the AXP, passing the ARE, and meeting licensure and reciprocity requirements.
NCARB shares tools and training opportunities to ensure these volunteers are ready to help candidates and architects understand our programs.
NAAB-accredited architecture programs and most AIA state chapters have an advisor. Find contact information for yours here!
Are you the person everyone comes to with licensure questions? You should join the Architect Licensing Advisors Community!

Licensing Advisors Summit
NCARB hosts regular summits to train current licensing advisors by providing an opportunity to share resources, get training, and discuss changes to the profession. This year's summit will be held August 1-3 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. If you're a licensing advisor, you can register for the summit online. If you'd like to become a licensing advisor, please contact email@example.com.

"I fell in love with licensing and helping other people. Everyone is different and has a different story, so you have to get to know them to motivate them."
