Becoming a licensed architect requires a lot of time, effort, and dedication, but many people don’t know how much work architects put into earning their license. That’s why we want to share your story! Celebrate your career accomplishments, inspire emerging professionals, and educate the public through our Architect Spotlight series.

Every month or so, NCARB highlights a recently licensed individual as our latest Architect Spotlight. We’ll ask you questions about your path to licensure, career goals, and advice for candidates working to earn their own license, and share your interview on our blog.

Interested in being our next Architect Spotlight? Your story might be a good fit if:

  • You were licensed within the last three years. Whether becoming an architect is just the first step in your professional life or a late-career goal, we want to hear how you got to where you are today.
  • You have advice to share. Have insight into completing the Architectural Experience Program® (AXP®), or study tips for the Architect Registration Examination® (ARE®)? Our readers are always looking for best practices from people who’ve successfully navigated the path.
  • You love architecture. Shaping the built environment is a big responsibility. Tell us what made you want to serve the people around you by becoming an architect!
  • You’re you. The path to becoming an architect can be as unique and varied as you are. Reading about how you navigated a non-traditional career path or overcame obstacles could motivate someone else to follow in your footsteps!
