The National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) is co-sponsoring the inaugural Building Safety Student Design Competition with the International Code Council (ICC) and the American Institute of Architectural Students (AIAS) focusing on affordable housing solutions in Long Beach, California.
There is a significant need for affordable housing in the Long Beach metro area, with 15% of the population living in poverty. The design contest challenges students to use their knowledge and education toward solutions for a real-world problem.
Registration opens on March 26, 2024, and is open to all active members of AIAS. Submissions will be accepted by individuals or design teams with a maximum of two members. The application closes on June 1, 2024.
