Are you a recently licensed architect passionate about shaping the future of your industry? As a member of NCARB’s community, you’re invited to apply for our volunteer group: the Re-Think Tank for recently licensed architects.
About the Re-Think Tank
For the past several years, NCARB has invited recently licensed architects from around the country to participate in our Re-Think Tank. Members share feedback on licensure programs, brainstorm areas for improvement, and engage with NCARB leadership. Many Re-Think Tank volunteers go on to join our standing committees, task forces, and even state licensing boards.
NCARB is in the middle of a multi-year effort to explore possible pathways to licensure. As part of that effort, this year’s Re-Think Tank will focus on non-traditional paths to licensure. If you attended a non-accredited architecture program, completed the Architectural Experience Program® (AXP®) Portfolio, spent some time working in another field, or took another less typical path, we encourage you to consider applying for this year’s Re-Think Tank!
Through a series of virtual and in-person meetings, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the current path to licensure and discuss alternative ways to demonstrate the architectural competency needed to protect the public, among other complex topics.
Before starting your application, please review the qualifications and meeting dates below. The application deadline has been extended and applications will be open until September 4, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. ET.
To apply, click the “Start Your Application” button below to request an application. You will receive a personalized email from Lineup, our volunteer management system, with a link to the application form. Applications will be anonymously reviewed by NCARB staff. Space is very limited, and selected applicants will be notified in late September.
Please review the qualifications carefully before starting your application. To apply for the Re-Think Tank, you must have:
- Earned a U.S. license within the last three (3) years
- Not held a committee or leadership role at any architectural collateral*
- Be willing and able to participate in all meetings
*Our goal is to provide a space for individuals who haven’t yet had the opportunity to shape the profession through a similar organization.
