Are you a recently licensed architect passionate about shaping the future of your industry? As a member of NCARB’s community, you’re invited to apply for our volunteer group: the Re-Think Tank for recently licensed architects.

About the Re-Think Tank

For the past several years, NCARB has invited recently licensed architects from around the country to participate in our Re-Think Tank. Members share feedback on licensure programs, brainstorm areas for improvement, and engage with NCARB leadership. Many Re-Think Tank volunteers go on to join our standing committees, task forces, and even state licensing boards.

Focus Areas

NCARB is in the middle of a multi-year effort to explore possible pathways to licensure. As part of that effort, this year’s Re-Think Tank will focus on non-traditional paths to licensure. If you attended a non-accredited architecture program, completed the Architectural Experience Program® (AXP®) Portfolio, spent some time working in another field, or took another less typical path, we encourage you to consider applying for this year’s Re-Think Tank!

Through a series of virtual and in-person meetings, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the current path to licensure and discuss alternative ways to demonstrate the architectural competency needed to protect the public, among other complex topics.
