How do I keep track of my LUs or CEHs?

While NCARB does not keep track of learning units or continuing education hours in your Record, we will automatically report courses passed through our Continuum Education Program to the AIA at no charge.

How do I find an IPAL-accepted program?

How do I establish an NCARB Record?

Go to my.ncarb.org, select "Login” and click “Establish Record” to create your account.

How do I download a Continuum Education course?

Login to your NCARB Record and click “Go” next to Continuum Education. Pick the course you’d like to read and select “Purchase.” This process looks like a purchase transaction, but if you’re an NCARB Certificate holder or licensure candidate with an active NCARB Record, you will not be charged.

How do I complete the AXP if I am not living in the United States?

Some of your foreign experience may count toward the AXP requirement (up to 1,860 hours), but you will only be able to complete the AXP outside of the United States if you are working under an architect licensed in the United States or Canada.  Learn more about AXP requirements.

How do I change my name on my NCARB Record?

You can submit requests to change your legal name in your NCARB Record. Navigate to the Profile tab in your Settings to submit a request. You will need to upload a copy of your state-issued ID and the legal name change document (such as a marriage certificate or divorce decree) to support your request.

How do I change my jurisdiction for initial licensure?

To change the jurisdiction where you are seeking initial licensure, you will need to contact us. Before you do, please research the requirements of the jurisdiction you intend to switch to. If you are actively testing, keep in mind that exam eligibility requirements and the eligibility application process vary by jurisdiction. Not all jurisdictions allow NCARB to open eligibilities.

How do I change a submitted AXP report to another supervisor?

To change the supervisor of a submitted report, login to your NCARB Record and select the submitted report you would like to edit. Click “change” next to supervisor, and either select the correct supervisor from the drop-down menu or input information for a new supervisor. 

How do I apply for licensure in another jurisdiction?

Architects can easily apply for licensure in another jurisdiction through their NCARB Record. Simply select the "New Registration Order” button under the “Registrations” tab and follow the instructions on your screen.  Please note that some jurisdictions require you to submit their state application.

How do I apply for an NCARB Certificate?

There are two ways to apply for NCARB certification. If you are new to NCARB, simply select the “Add” button under the “NCARB Record” tab. If you are renewing an existing NCARB Record, you can apply for an NCARB Certificate when you add a new registration. Once you have met all of the requirements for certification, we will evaluate your Record. Learn more about applying for an NCARB Certificate.
