Catherine C. Morrison, FAIA, NCARB, LEED AP BD+C, NOMA, of Charlotte, North Carolina, is NCARB's FY26 Region 3 Director. Morrison is the chief executive officer of Neighboring Concepts, a Charlotte-based design firm focused on equitable, community-driven architecture and planning. Licensed in eight Southeastern states, Morrison earned her architecture license in 2010 and holds the NCARB Certificate for national reciprocity. She has dedicated much of her career to advancing licensure and professional development, especially for underrepresented voices in the field. 

Elected to NCARB’s Board of Directors in 2025 as the Region 3 Director, Morrison has also served on the North Carolina Board of Architecture and Registered Interior Designers since 2018 and as its president since 2022. Her NCARB committee service includes the Experience Committee, Governance Work Group, and chairing the Credentials Committee, among others. 

Morrison's professional and civic leadership has earned her numerous honors, including the NCARB President’s Medal for Distinguished Service, AIA North Carolina’s Detrick Service Medal, and the AIA Charlotte Citizen Architect Award. She holds dual master’s degrees in architecture and geography from UNC Charlotte and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland. Beyond practice, she actively serves her community through the City of Charlotte Business Advisory Committee and Nourish Up board of directors.
