Bayliss Ward

Bayliss Ward, NCARB, AIA, of Bozeman, Montana, has been a member of the Montana State Board of Architects and Landscape Architects since 2005. In 2014, he was elected to the Central States Conference (Region 5), serving as chair and now director. Bayliss’ early volunteer service was focused on the Architect Registration Examination® (ARE®), including several years on the ARE Graphics Subcommittee. He has also served on the Audit, Continuing Education, Credentials, Education, Integrated Path Evaluation, Member Board Executives, Procedures and Documents, and Regional Leadership committees, as well as the Governance, Licensure, Model Law, Future Title, and Test Specification task forces. Bayliss was inaugurated as NCARB's president/chair of the Board during the organization's 2022 Annual Business Meeting.

As principal and founder of Bayliss Architects, P.C., he possesses a wide range of experience and a strong sense of creative design. His project experience includes large-scale commercial/office projects, high density residential, master planning, medical facilities, classroom facilities, and large custom residential homes in the western United States. Bayliss Architects received Historic Preservation Awards for Excellence in 1997, 1998, and 2005, and their work has been published in several publications, including Architectural Record.

Ward earned his Bachelor of Architecture and Master of Architecture degrees from Montana State University in 1988 and 2008, respectively. He holds the NCARB Certificate and is licensed to practice in Montana, Idaho, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming.
